Mooney--an under appreciated coach.

What happened to the up tempo, crashing the boards, pressing, heavy subbing style of basketball we played in the non-con?

Another example where Mooney is playing chess while the rest of us “not real fans” play checkers. The plan was we show the A10 teams this new style of play in the OOC (against poor competition so the execution looks great) and they have to prepare for it. THEN we default back to the vaunted Princeton offense and switching principals on D and catch the opponent off guard. Genius!

I didn't see the game, but seems like Mooney has lost the team? A few times in person spectators have commented on terrible body language. McKillop and Davidson are a poor to middling team. Sounds like can't even say we "competed" last night.

At least you could tell he was resigned. He definitely didn't say we competed. I'm sad how season has progressed. After Belmont I had high hopes.

The classic roller coaster of Richmond hoops. Somehow beat a good team on the road, but then lose a bunch at home. Program is dead, season doesn’t matter. Hope we don’t win another game all year.

We are 14-11. Had just lost 6 in a row, coming off a 10-22 season last year with 8 D1 wins. We aren’t going to lose every single game we play but our performance as a whole the past several years have not been good.

I can’t tell if this is trolling or not. But this is the concern I have about the mentality our admin, PQ, and all the Facebook grandmas (that our admin will listen to) actually believe. There is a recency bias and all of a sudden one win means we should forget about everything else that occurred. That’s not how it works. Really, the ultimate evaluation should come at the end of the season if we wanted to be completely fair both ways, but the direction we’ve been heading is not good and one win at home against George Mason shouldn’t change that. It’s like setting the bar so low that when we do something that is expected (like beating George Mason at home) it’s thought of that Mooney is meeting/exceeding expectations.

I’m happy for the guys after this win and hope we can continue this more but let’s call things as we see them.

17 - Pretty sure this falls under trolling - I am getting a good chuckle when I see these now. BUT to your other point, the sad sad reality is that it does seem Hardt/admin/PQ do latch on to singular events as confirmation that Mooney is doing well. Instead of looking at the body of work.

I did get a chuckle out of this. I did want to make it clear, SpiderWill has no relation to SpiderTrue. I don't claim him (or her).

That said--would love to see us build off our momentum from yesterday. While I don't despise them--i'm definitely not a RAM.

I respect you more spiderwill. Although we don’t agree on our program, at least you were on here sooner (after one our quad 4 losses) This dude just hops in after our best win of the season and tries to flex

I am glad we won. I am happy for the team and they played well. However, we have a nearly 2 year sample size of the most recent body of work. 9-22 against A-10 teams. 10 OOC losses to teams we should beat nearly every year. A nice win over Mason ( like 17 said, a team we should beat at home) doesn't change anything the past 2 years. But, again, happy for the team and I hope they can get hot.
