Correct. I am pretty sure Silas Demary got 2+ million. And, Ky paid over 20 million, so some guys definitely made more than guys on the list.I dont think that list is right. Not sure where they get their numbers but it was widely reported Rodney Rice JR got 3 million. Would net 3 guys or more on Uconn getting 2+.
You must like them at least a little bit. You are posting in the off season on a message board of a team that had a losing season this year.I like the part “Odom’s son is his agent”. Sure let’s overpay this client. Nepotism at its finest.
It is sure going to be easy to not like college sports anymore.
Fake news. UVA is not paying anybody that muchIf Hill is getting $3-4 million then this NIL situation has gotten completely out of control. Now if that’s for 2 years then perhaps more reasonable.
Not my clearest post ever, but I said “going to be” for a couple of reasons. First, there is no transparency or stable market for player salaries so this “claim” about market value for this individual isn’t something I have any belief in. Second, if the “true costs” of assembling a team rise to these astronomical levels then the costs have to be passed on the audience and I for one will be opting out. The product is the same with a potentially significant higher cost. You must like them at least a little bit. for one thing, anyone so good that we'd offer $2M would also be getting offered $2M+ at a high major program with payroll much larger than ours. What is stopping us from spending $2 million and landing someone like Cam Boozer next year and splitting the rest among the other 9 guys (after AA and 1 elite super star)
I see your point. $2 million at Duke is better than $2 million at Richmond. I agree. What we need to do then is identify those guys who are getting X amount to play at P4 and offer them 20-25% more than that to come here. $2 million is too high in this case but I think within the $750K-$1.25 million range we can do that.for one thing, anyone so good that we'd offer $2M would also be getting offered $2M+ at a high major program with payroll much larger than ours.
if you're $2M good, you want to play with other $2M players at a high major. not at Richmond or any other non P5.
now if you offer someone $4M like BYU did ... yes you can sway someone!
