Lopez was on Goodman's podcast today, talking about his journey, how Mooney is as a coach, and the one guy who surprised him upon arrival with what he can do: Walz, although as many have observed here, AJ says Mike doesn't realize how good he is and if he was a bit more assertive he would really be a problem for other teams.

How long have some of us said that Walz needs to be more assertive? Note to Mike - Time is running out. This is your last season to take game to the level of expectations. There is no next year.

Personally, I think Beagle runs our offense better than Mike. However, I would like to see Mike use his size/strength more when in the game to be that big and to not try to establish himself in the post more is kind of mal-practice. For him to be most assertive though, that starts with not having him out at the 3 point line with his back to the basket so much in our offense.

our two-headed center is averaging 19.3 ppg, 13.7 rpg, and 3.7 apg in 34.3 mpg. they've been great. only think holding them back is minutes.

Hopefully that will continue, but we have to acknowledge who those stats have been racked up against - one of which is a D3 team. A10 play is going to be tougher.
