Exactly. The P5 guys all have big time recruits who don't pan out and those recruits are probably coming in signing a big NIL deal. Say a guy is getting $500,000 of NIL. If they show that they can't play, you think they are just going to give them another 1.5 million to ride the pine for the next 3 years
we see people transferring down because they weren't playing.
can't think of any off hand who transferred down after getting 18 mpg.
and while it's a year to year contract just like a scholarship, I've never heard definitively of a team reducing or taking away someone's NIL.
you stated pretty definitively that it happens all the time.
so I asked you where you've seen/heard that.

My K state friend, who is now pretty much disgusted by NIL now, after having been a fund raiser at first, told me KState (football anyway) is having to legally go after tons of players that did not fulfill their NIL obligations after transferring. I guess the lesson is, dont pay all of the bag at once.

at the school with NIL that I'm familiar with, players had some minor obligations they had to fulfill I believe 4 times over the year.
they received 25% of their NIL after each obligation was fulfilled. nothing too taxing to warrant not showing up.
