2026 Portal Prospects

Doing some quick math with assumptions here. If AA got $750K to return that would be 20% of our payroll if we were operating with $4.5 million. I don’t think we would spend 20% on one guy. Mooney also said that not everyone gets NIL. So let’s assume the bottom 4 players on the bench do not. So that’s 11 guys. Let’s say for sake of argument that we are operating with $5 million. What is stopping us from spending $2 million and landing someone like Cam Boozer next year and splitting the rest among the other 9 guys (after AA and 1 elite super star)

Another way to think about it, if the 10th guy was getting 1.7 million, I assume the 48th-50 guy are all getting $1 million. Why don’t we offer a million to those guys and have a roster of AA, the 48th-50th NIL valued players, and then split the other $1 million among 7 other guys.

I dont think that list is right. Not sure where they get their numbers but it was widely reported Rodney Rice JR got 3 million. Would net 3 guys or more on Uconn getting 2+.

Correct. I am pretty sure Silas Demary got 2+ million. And, Ky paid over 20 million, so some guys definitely made more than guys on the list.

I like the part “Odom’s son is his agent”. Sure let’s overpay this client. Nepotism at its finest.

It is sure going to be easy to not like college sports anymore.

You must like them at least a little bit. You are posting in the off season on a message board of a team that had a losing season this year. :)
