Doing some quick math with assumptions here. If AA got $750K to return that would be 20% of our payroll if we were operating with $4.5 million. I don’t think we would spend 20% on one guy. Mooney also said that not everyone gets NIL. So let’s assume the bottom 4 players on the bench do not. So that’s 11 guys. Let’s say for sake of argument that we are operating with $5 million. What is stopping us from spending $2 million and landing someone like Cam Boozer next year and splitting the rest among the other 9 guys (after AA and 1 elite super star)
Another way to think about it, if the 10th guy was getting 1.7 million, I assume the 48th-50 guy are all getting $1 million. Why don’t we offer a million to those guys and have a roster of AA, the 48th-50th NIL valued players, and then split the other $1 million among 7 other guys.
I dont think that list is right. Not sure where they get their numbers but it was widely reported Rodney Rice JR got 3 million. Would net 3 guys or more on Uconn getting 2+.
