Some momentum would do wonders for this team as they look to still erase a disappointing showing in the team's home opener against TCU. With Clemson looming a few weeks away, the UNC football program would love to win the next two (against Richmond and UCF) to go into that game riding a three-game winning streak and a lot of confidence.
Before we get to that point, you can't overlook what's right in front of you: the Richmond Spiders.
What is the series history between Richmond and UNC?
North Carolina has had a ton of success against the Spiders, leading the all-time series 12-2.
However, it's been quite some time since these two programs met on the football field, as the last matchup occurred on November 4, 1978. Richmond ended up winning that game 27-18, snapping a four-game losing skid against the Tar Heels.
Will weather be a factor for this matchup?
Weather is not expected to be a factor in this matchup, as another beautiful day is projected in Chapel Hill.
The forecast calls for sunshine with some clouds, with a high of 81 degrees. Around kickoff, the temperature is projected to be 78 degrees with 8 MPH winds.
