game two offers the Spiders their 2nd straight rematch from the 2024 season...Richmond fans unable to cleanse their memories thoroughly may painfully recall the Terriers' 23 unanswered points that shocked the heavily favored Spiders 26-19 at The Brick House!
UR will travel to Spartanburg this year...we'll be coming off of what's being billed by many as our biggest Patriot League game of the season versus Lehigh while Wofford warms up for the Spiders versus South Carolina State...
win, or lose versus Lehigh, this is a game Richmond cannot afford to lose if it wants to battle for a 4th straight FCS Playoff berth!...after last season's loss to the Terriers we had to win ten games in a row! That kind of win streak is tough to do once, much less twice in a row!
Wofford went on to a mediocre 5-7 season after defeating the Spiders...Coach Shawn Watson, in his 4th season, will still be searching for his first winning season...the Terriers were picked to finish 7th in the SOCON Preseason Coaches Poll...six Terriers earned spots on the first or second All SOCON preseason squads...
meanwhile Richmond fans will get their second look at a team attempting to replace a double digit group of 2025 starters...it will be interesting to see how the squad is coming together...I expect this game will be another battle...
