I find it hard to believe as we move several games into A10 play that 11 players will continue to avg over 12 mins per game. Am I the only one who thinks Mooney will revert closer to norm? I’m not sure the argument of balanced depth sticks.

I like that lineup a lot. I might stick with Johnston over Thomas for now, so we can see if Johnston can turn things around and be more of a factor for us. I would be fine with Walz or Beagle starting. Then, AP, Thomas, Tyne and Walz/Beagle would make my top 9. Also okay with giving JRob and Tanner minutes.

Played out 0 for 2 tonight. My son walked in and sat down while I was watching, just as AP was letting fly: his response to his shot: ugly.
You really don't see any development in Walz? That can't be true.
Hate to harp on this, but have you watched him this season? Regression if you ask me. It's to the point that everytime he has the ball I am fearing a turnover. And last night he was getting bullied. Go watch the tape of the game. He has numbers against really bad teams so far. I get we are a high post center offense. BUT, its not mutually exclusive to having a single post move. Look at TJ. Look at Quinn. Every time Walz starts backing down he gets stopped and in an awkward position. He does make a few nice passes per game, but is looking to pass 95% of the time, and those have been offset by his really poor passes.
To me, it's more of an agressiveness conversation vs. a development conversation. Like you mentioned, Walz is looking to pass 95% of the time and the only time he really looks for his shot is on the top of the key three that he takes once or twice a game. He's a good passer, but he's so tuned in on trying to find the perfect pass that he never looks to make a move towards the basket on his own. You can almost see him thinking through every decision he makes on the offensive end instead of reacting instinctively, which to me is the biggest difference between him and TJ/Grant/Neal. While I love the start to the season, we're going to need him to be an offensive threat to be a factor in A10 play. Don't think our guard play can carry us every night.
Agree that was not a great look from Beagle, with his man dropping back 10 feet into the paint. Back to Walz, I don't care that he doesn't have a hook shot, it's more that every other center we have had could at least make some moves and score - Golden/Quinn/TJ etc etc. Walz doesnt seem to have developed one move. And no his midrange game is non existent too. He either swishes or airballs the three pointer, if he can continue to shoot 40% from three I am ok with the airballs. I am not going to go back and watch tape, but would bet there are at least 3 to 4 a game where he forces a pass and either A) gets overlooked as turnover, or B) the guy trying to corral it gets the turnover. In my book he caused the turnover.
