Preseason Camp

Maryland poached our kicker last minute just for him to be 3rd on the depth chart. I’m sure our coaching staff will try to use this as reason to help keep players moving up to FBS, despite the money that comes with it.
I guess it depends on if you love playing the game or are just looking to get paid. I suppose a player also doesn’t know what the competition will be like on the next team until he gets there too. Definitely is bad news for the Spiders as the kicking game has done a 180 between seasons.

Wonder if Will McManus is able to do triple duty with kickoff,FG and X pt accuracy.
Have been told McManus isn't interested in kicking FGs/PATs but he may not have a choice. It must have been an awful last week for the kickers because although week 2 was ugly, it wasn't "we have zero kicking" ugly. Hopefully it isn't in their heads

It probably doesn’t help that their coach is talking to the media saying how bad the kicking unit is. I like how Huesman is a straight shooter but sometimes a little too much. He needs to be more of a players coach in my opinion.

not sure I agree, I think coaches need to know how to push players without destroying. If saying publicly performance is not where it should be, and that gets in your head kicking is probably not going to be your position.

If it's that bad, inside the 35 and less than 5 to go, go for it. After TDs go for two every time. Punt and play the field position game. Keep them pinned down and let the defense go to work.

PS: Tell Maryland to go effthemselves.

Despite reportedly being third on the depth chart, O'Haire was the Terps' kicker today in a 39–7 win over FAU. He was a perfect 3-for-3 on FGs from 49, 42, and 24, plus 4-for-4 on XPs.

Guess he ended up earning some of his money. Hard to believe he won’t stay active if he was perfect today.

Just giving a in person watch yesterday at the game. The freshman recruit was dressed yesterday kicking very accurately from PAT to 30 yards out during warm ups before the game and at halftime.Powerful and head over head kicks. No reason why he wasn’t kicking from where we kicked from yesterday?
The weird thing was no player ever got around him never a word between him and the rest of the team or coaches?

The way Huesman talked about our kicking game he’s probably working on his transfer paperwork.
