Jim Livesay died over the weekend. Apparently, a heart attack. One of the all-time great Spider receivers. He caught 10 balls for 127 yds and 2 TD's in UR 1968 Tangerine Bowl victory.

Jim Livesay died over the weekend. Apparently, a heart attack. One of the all-time great Spider receivers. He caught 10 balls for 127 yds and 2 TD's in UR 1968 Tangerine Bowl victory.

I had the pleasure to meet and to get to know Jim. He was a good one and he will be missed. He truly had a gift- speed, good hands, field vision. That team was special.

Jim and Walker Gillette were a terrific combo in that Tangerine Bowl! With Buster O’Brien slinging it Ohio U. didn’t have an answer.

RIP Jim.

I tried to link a Collegian article about Jim. He described a game having a concussion in the first half, blurred vision, color issues and played the second half. He was asked why and answered “I didn’t have anything else to do.”

the 2008 team was the best team of the I-AA/FCS era! That 1973 team was terrific and in my opinion the best of the D-1 era.
