I can't do this anymore

you've also hit the first marker...realizing that the school does not care about real success. it's a sad realization.

1 NCAA in 15 years was not why we moved to the A10 all those years ago. To build a program like what has been built at St. Mary's, or Xavier, was the idea. Those programs did it. Elevated their programs to consistent high level success (NCAAs, even better bball conferences.) Richmond pushed all its chips in the Moonbasket and put the program on ignore. We're now in Lasalle territory.

The numbers speak for themselves.

Fire John Hardt.

Through all of the ups and downs, hits and misses, thicks and thins, for many decades (going back to the Johnny Moates days), I have either attended, watched, or listened to most every Spider basketball game. I remember bringing a small black and white tv that plugged into the cigarette lighter attachment of my police car, while working, watching Spiders upset Syracuse n the NCAA tournament (1981?). I have driven to the tops of hills in order to get reception on an AM radio station; walked out of meetings, and even stood up a date. Just to be a fan. I know many of you have lived the same life...

Until this year. Probably 5 or 6 times this year I even forgot we were playing.

Memories of finding ways to listen before the streaming days - My dad a '61 UVA grad who saw like 3 straight 0-X losing FB seasons when in school was all in for Wahoo basketball in the early to mid 80s even with us living in SW GA where he was a professor. My first live bball game was driving up to ATL and see I think Ralph as a sophomore playing GA Tech .. but I also remember driving out to the country hills in Harris County GA where old AM radio on his used Toyota Corolla would give us a chance of hearing the UVA/Caroline games. Good times with my Dad who passed in 2015 at 75.

Rick I remember taking my AM radio with me while doing homework, listening to Frank Soden and having it barely audible so my teacher mother could not hear it.

Good stuff guys. Remember driving up to College park with my dad last minute to see Richmond play Temple in NCAAs. In the parking lot before the game ran into Kenny Atkinson. He knew me a little from campus and talking some hoops (this was a couple years after he graduated), and said if we won he was going to get us tickets to sweet 16 if we advanced. That was pretty much pre cell phone so not sure how would have figured that one out 🤣. My dad passed away at 73 in 2013.

It's amazing how low expectations have come from Tarrant and Beilein days. Wow. If I ever see Hardt at a game, will give him a piece of my mind. May try to contact Hallock. Just pitiful how bad things are now.

UR sees no problem with the status quo. Roll it back for another year!

Believe Bob Black said on his radio show that a number of changes/enhancements are on the way. Don’t give up the ship just yet.
Yeah - -I fear that this means we will increase the NIL budget by 10% and we will accept a game with JMU next year. And the admin declares victory over the future of Richmond basketball. Reality is they are in denial about how bad we are and why! Tweaks around the margins aren't the answer. Best we can hope for is the tweaks expose the real problems. But that means more suffering first

Yep, since Mooney would not go out and get the bag for NIL last couple of years, these changes are probably some type of commitment from the school to pay more NIL. Just another delay. See now we are paying players enough to be competitive. Mooney shows some improvement and smarmy Hardt says see we are getting there. Or Mooney fails again and well it takes a couple years to buy an appropriate roster. As noted, coaching change is the only real hope. The other changes are just windows dressing and smoke screen.

I’m going to clue the AD in. If you can’t coach your team to hold a 30 point lead against a middling A10 program that you’ve historically owned, then you have a coaching problem.

This isn’t that complicated.
