Game Thread - Southern Virginia (D3) @ RC - Wed 11/5 7pm - ESPN+

I thought we looked decent for the first half of the first game of the year. Biggest disappointment for me is that Walz and Johnston, who start at the 2 most important positions for our team, have just been passengers of the game so far. Neither have done anything above average, which doesn’t bode well for us.

Unless Bryson is hurt, its seems the die is cast with him and the coaching staff is probably "encouraging" him to transfer.
Agree. I guess he could just be too slow laterally, but did u see that guy break AP's ankles. U can't possibly be slower laterally than that. I dont get it.

AP needs no more minutes. Ever. If he can't shoot, he brings very little. Huge liability on defense where he simply can't keep the dribble in front of him.
Yes, I saw him just get absolutely beat like a drum off the dribble by a d3 guy. Bad. And when he missed all the practice time, why do you love him so much. I hate to joke about it, but I think Mooney has "coaching dementia". He can't seem to remember simple concepts and how bad guys are playing. Wild.

I suppose this is what we should expect from this game - the 2nd public exhibition. Definitely harder to follow all the substitutions watching on TV. Hard to believe that the 2nd game looked worse than the 1st, but maybe the players don’t care since they are playing a D3 team.

Some awful shots from Tanner and AP as others have pointed out.

Thanks for the insight. I’m basing it off TV, but there are some camera angles that can show student section well and it looks pretty empty. I get that we’re playing a lousy D3 team but home openers have always been against low tier opponents (granted D1) and students would always be there for that. Sad to see it’s not the case now.
Has to be the lowest attendance for a home opener as it should be. A D3 opener = no interest.
