Game Thread - Southern Illinois @ RC - Sat 12/13 6pm ESPN+

No chance there’s anywhere near 300 students at this game considering a) the turnout so far and b) the fact that most students will be at home after finishing finals
Seems per my daughter that finals run through Tuesday so hopefully we will have at least a better showing of students today

We are having big problems with perimeter defense and they are getting layups and wide open threes as we help. They can beat us off the dribble at will and we have to help and they are very good at finding the right guy off that! We need to figure out how to keep them in front of us so we don't have to help

Pretty tough half. Offense wasn’t flowing well and made way too many mistakes on defense. Walz basically a no show after three quick turnovers and two fouls. Hoping that was some exam rust and we come out with way more urgency in the 2H.

Not our best half. Out of sync on offense for some long stretches and a struggle on defense to keep them in front of us! Up 7 to down 4 over last 4 minutes. Perimeter defense is going to be a year long problem. Our guys are just mot real good laterally at keeping their man in front of them. And we got very lost on a bunch of rotations in the last 8 minutes or so - - dunks and wide open threes off dribble penetration and us getting confused in our rotations behind the help defense that was required. Gonna need to much better at both ends to dodge the bad loss!

Being way out "athleticed". Can't stay in front, can't keep them off the glass, can't get to the basket ourselves.

Big problem is, I don't think we are playing all that badly, we just aren't competitive athletically with them - - pretty much across the board! And I think that's what we are going to see as the season goes on - - we can beat really bad teams, but when we see other "OK" teams, its not going to be pretty.

Daughtry needs to be playing more minutes. Have been saying this from the beginning of season. I really think he is our best player. Shoulld be getting 30 minutes. Tanner, AP minutes can be reduced to accommodate.
