Yes, it was time for a change 8 years ago.NIL money aside, at this point I'd take my chances on an upcoming coach over CM. Haven't we seen enough of what we've seen this past 20 plus years? Isn't it time for a change?

Actually after seeing his offense, defense, and rebounding philosophy / strategies, I was ready for a change 18 years ago.Yes, it was time for a change 8 years ago.
Care to elaborate on what changes you'd make to the strategies? Would you play more zone? Press?Actually after seeing his offense, defense, and rebounding philosophy / strategies, I was ready for a change 18 years ago.
We need a coach who can work within the parameters of the current dynamics of college hoops. Mooney requires commitment, and that's something that has fallen by the wayside. He might get away with that at a low D1 or D3 school, but not at a high mid-major D1.The problem is we need better players and a better coach.
Could we package them together and lose them both in a game of Texas Hold'em?He deserved to have his team with Gilyard and Golden. Now not so much. I would rather we lose Huesman than Mooney.
they did get 36% of those rebounds on the offensive end.Rebounding wasn't a problem. They got an offensive rebound on nearly 40% of their missed shots.
while I hoped we'd win, I'm surprise anyone "thought" we'd win. nothing in our OOC suggested we're as good as GW.I'm surprised at how poor we are defensively. I also thought we would win this game.
if we played good teams in the OOC, our defense would have been exposed earlier. beating bad teams doesn't mean we played great. You mean our best offensive game, but certainly not our best game. Because our defense was so bad, this felt like one of our worst games all year. We just never could stop them. They scored 85 points on 58 shots. They were 17-25 from 2 and 17-33 from 3. Their EFG% was 72.3%. Yikes!!!!
Agree, which is yet another reason to not play the garbage schedule we played.if we played good teams in the OOC, our defense would have been exposed earlier. beating bad teams doesn't mean we played great.
GW is either really good or had a good day.
JRob plays position #5, #4 & #3 in one game for 1-2 minutes. How can anyone play defense or offense consistently?Philly, respect your basketball knowledge but I disagree with the assessment of a few guys you mention. First, AP is actually a plus defender and the advanced metrics support this. He's also a better rebounder than almost all of the wings we have and hardly turns the ball over. I agree on his offensive struggles but very much disagree on your assessment of his defense. HE also seems to bring intensity every game which this team clearly needs more of. Also disagree with your assessment of Lopez being a two-way guy. He is a below average defender and has Tanner-esque lateral quickness. Love his offense and think he should start of course. I really don't see Walz being that much better of a defensive player than Beagle, I'd argue they are pretty much identical on that end of the floor. JRob has been horrendous defensively so far, he is out of position far more than anyone else on the team. I've seen Mooney and the other coaches lighting him up almost every game about his defense. I love the energy he brings and I think it's fine he takes some lumps but he is a liability right now on the defensive end. Agree on AA, Tyne, Thomas takes.
I think the problem is he is not a 5, 4, or a 3. And he can't play guard. And, who do we want him guarding? I am all for positionless basketball, but he is the epitome of a "tweener", and not the new, versatile can do it all tweener.JRob plays position #5, #4 & #3 in one game for 1-2 minutes. I agree he is very athletic, but how do you see him defending the 3, 4, and 5? He can't stay with or slow down good wing players, and is undersized against bigger guys. Offensively, how many minutes would you really want to give a guy who just cuts and crashes?I think JRob might be pretty great at some point. that athleticism plays. and I do think he can defend at the 3/4/5 spots. asking someone to defend different types of players isn't that big a deal. asking him to play our offense at 3 spots is, though.
his offensive role with us shouldn't change regardless of who he's on the floor with. do what he's supposed to do on the preimeter, cut hard when it's there, and crash every board on both ends.
I think he's quick enough to stay with forwards. agreed he's not tall enough to guard a good back-to-the-basket 5 when/if we play one. I wouldn't play him at the 5 against Castro.I agree he is very athletic, but how do you see him defending the 3, 4, and 5? like a Cayo, you can play him plenty with the right guys around him.Offensively, how many minutes would you really want to give a guy who just cuts and crashes?
Yes, he could maybe play with Jacob, Blake, Nick, and Grant, but I doubt his post game is close to Nate's, and I don't see them on our roster or walking through the door anytime soon.I think he's quick enough to stay with forwards. agreed he's not tall enough to guard a good back-to-the-basket 5 when/if we play one. like every year ... I'm very high on next year's class!Yes, he could maybe play with Jacob, Blake, Nick, and Grant, but I doubt his post game is close to Nate's, and I don't see them on our roster or walking through the door anytime soon.
Since he held his own against David Robinson, I'd love to have him at the 4, and sometimes even the 5.Now you guys have me wondering, where would Woolfolk play in the current basketball environment?
