I'm late to the party on providing thoughts about the game but a few observations:
I think not having Tyne for this game is a big factor in the win. We've seen a few things this year that makes me think this 1) he dribbles the ball way too much with no intent which ends up stalling the offensive flow 2) he regularly gets targeted on defense by opposing teams where they post him up in a 1 on 1 iso in the low post and 3) we got to see Thomas for way more minutes which obviously was aided by his awesome shooting night.
AA - I would start him over Tyne. He runs the offense with much better efficiency (eye test and advanced stats would agree) and he seems to be a good defender thus far, even when giving up a significant height advantage.
Johnston - great game and best one as a spider. I hope to see this level of leadership and intensity out of him every game. I do worry about his ability to handle the ball against more athletic, aggressive defenses.
AP - I'm not as low on him as others in this thread because I think he does some nice things on the glass, handles the ball well for his size and doesn't turn the ball over much (he has the same amount of turnovers on the season as Daughtry had in the Belmont game alone) BUT he absolutely has to shoot better. He has the same 3 PT shooting percentage as Colin Tanner so I would hope one of them can get on track.
Daughtry - he's a tough dude to guard, really love his 1 on 1 game. But he needs to stop turning the ball over by taking on double teams.
Beagle > Walz. Stats and eye test back this up on both sides of the ball.
As much as people may not want to admit it (me included), this was actually a very good coaching job by Mooney. The execution down the stretch was very solid, especially compared to historically. The inbounds play on the sidelines where Lopez broke towards the basket and everyone else went the other way was really smart, he drew the shooting foul and is the team's best FT shooter.
