He was a great player, but with the 3 pointer and great guard play being such a huge factor now, the game has changed dramatically. Now you guys have me wondering, where would Woolfolk play in the current basketball environment?
He played when the game was still my power forward against your power forward every game. Most teams pretty much had true 1-5 positions out there with fewer 3 guard lineups. His 1st 2 years, the 3 pointer didn't exist and his last 2 years, when it did exist, teams didn't shoot them much. He had his way with lesser power forwards a lot back then. Now, he would be facing many bigger, stronger, quicker, taller athletes, many who could shoot the 3.
We were 2.1 for 6.7 and 3.5 for 8.0 AS A TEAM from 3 his final 2 years. Not saying he couldn't or wouldn't be good now, but he wouldn't have the same stats playing the same way he did, and he would definitely need good shooters around him.
