Fire Mooney

Nah I wouldn’t dare claim to the be the original guy. But he once he left Twitter and a couple of bad losses I decided to take his place. I feel like he was more articulate than myself. I kinda of just rant, he put together complete thoughts. Maybe I should start putting more thought into it now

Leaving the game last night I heard a kid's voice in the concourse chanting "Fire Mooney" for almost a full minute. I said jokingly to my son that Mooney should probably remain our coach for another 12 years or so, and a red-sweater overheard me and muttered "More like another 12 hours."
It really begs the question if he has the support of fans at large or not. The narrative is that the vocal dissent is just a minority but I don’t buy that. I think there are a ton of apathetic folks in the middle there, or blow with the wind.

That was only the second game I've been to this year, but it sure felt like the people who were there were there out of some perceived duty but largely against their will or mostly disinterested in the outcome. I admit that I fell into the latter category. I even said to my son down the stretch that it was a one-point game with like 90 seconds left but you'd never have known it because there was zero energy from the crowd.

It’s like you knew it was coming.

I was in line last week in concourse to get the jersey giveaway for season tic holders, and the woman in front of me said she and husband are season tic holders. She asked me if I was Moon fan. I told her no. She said they weren’t either and provided reasons. I guess we aren’t real fans.

God bless that kid. Words cannot express how much joy Mooney, Hardt, and Queally have sucked away from this community.

These games are essentially meaningless. We’re basically playing for tourney seeding and perhaps some small amount of pride. That’s about it.
