Game Thread - vs Charlotte in Orlando 12:30 PM, Fri 11/28 ESPN+

Waltz is not yet at level he was at end of last year. His lateral movement and jumping
seem to be lacking. I expected him to be a tougher presence and he seems to get out
challenged underneath.
After reading this i just saw two play where he was a step behind and turned it over trying to make a pass that wasn't there. While his numbers have been ok so far just a step behind.

Tend to agree on the lineup change, I think our best five is Tyne, Johnston, Lopez, Daughtry, Beagle. Argabright and Thomas are both right there as well.

It doesn’t matter a ton given how much run they’re all getting, but at end of game that’s probably who I’d want, unlike what we saw yesterday.

This is Charlotte, I’m waiting for 8 straight free throws…
When AP had that ticky tack foul called on him at the end to bring the score to one possession game, I was wondering if Mooney was thinking of that old Charlotte game as a reason to keep his composure. Definitely something he thought of.

Daughtry needs to figure out how to not pick up two fouls in like 6 minutes in the first half! We need him on the court. Same with Lopez. Hoping Johnston will be able to find a rhythm on this team, hasn’t had many good games so far.

Foul shooting was atrocious and that kept UNCC in the ball game. On positive side
I like the rotation of players and AP still makes some stupid mental mistakes, but he is
much more confident on the floor. Johnston is true sg and should not handle ball much.
AA is real deal with ball handling, but needs to improve his 3 pt shooting to open more up
for others. Overall love the quicker, fast pace play creating good ball movement. We will be
a surprise in the A10 I predict

That was worse than ticky-tack, I don’t think AP touched the charlotte player at all

I’m ready to flip starting lineup - Beagle for Waltz and Daughtry for Tanner.
I think the hard part here is Mooney doesn’t play people with two fouls in the first half. Daughtry especially has had limited minutes due to this. Beagle had 4 fouls in 18 minutes today

There are pros and cons to first half strategy and managing time around foul prevention. However my belief is you play the best players, and they should be rewarded as starters. I know there are some who say it doesn’t matter who starts, but to establish momentum out of the gate play the best lineup. Further, history has shown that CM is not the greatest at strategic in game decision making and game management. So play the best 5 at tipoff.

Agree. Beagle has been a beast on the glass and Daughtry is playing bully ball down low and can also knock them down from 3.

In my opinion, 4 of the 5 guys who should be getting the most playing time now is Tyne, Lopez, Daughtry, Beagle. The 5th person can vary. I like Argabright, Johnston, or AP depending on the situation.
