agreed, that's our achilles heal.
need Boyden to get them up to speed quickly. these days, it's doable. should be getting to work around June 1.

I just think that is gonna be tough, we are asking freshman essentially to go up against 4th and 5th year players. None of these guys are big strong guys either, all need to hit the weight room to bang in our league.

My issue with this roster is the 4 and 5. Outside of Dorries, who played one year on a bad Patriot League team, the rest of our big man/forward room are 4 guys who have never set foot on a college court (McCaffrey played some limited minutes) and a reserve role guy from another small mid major.

And we are going to compete in the A-10 with this?

I like all that we did in the portal, but we are severely lacking in experienced and developed big men and that is going to hurt us when we get into the meat of our schedule. We are going to get bullied on the inside. Need that last transfer slot to address that in my opinion.

and their 6'10" center only averaged 4.5 rebounds per game out of their 39.8
their tough guards did a lot of work on the boards. I think we've added a couple of that kind of guard this year.

I could see Kaiser being a 6+ rpg guy for us. I have seen comments from him about how he loves to rebound. And I think he has the body to guard down low if necessary. This is why I could see him playing with 3 other guards a lot.

Mooney will coach the rebounding out of those guys. I wouldn't be suprised if both of their rebounding numbers decline next year. Thats Mooneyball. And without some interior physicality we will struggle to stop strong post players.

I think he plays all the minutes he can handle here. we could go small for the other 10-15 minutes, or big with Ball, Caldwell or Cook.

I hear you and it would be great if McCaffrey is ready to be a 25+ mpg guy from day 1. Just hard to tell based on his 9 games at Butler, where he didn't do much in limited minutes before his injury. But, I love it that we added him.

4 out of these 5 are more than capable of starting somewhere at the 4 and 5.

And that is my question. How do we compete with that with our current roster? And than add on the rebound phobic coaching of Mooney and I have concerns, no matter how good our guard/wing room appears.

We have one more available scholarship is all I am saying and if I'm the coach, I am 100% focused on a strong big body player with experience, who does not suck at playing basketball like Kweisi or JMA. Go get us a guy who played 20 + minutes a game last year and maybe averaged 7 and 5, something like that. I'm not asking for frickin a P5 starter, just a nice experienced reserve big.

Also would be nice to have a guy like this who can teach all of young bigs how to bang a bit. Cause you know they ain't getting that from Mr. Fluidity.

if Ball got $350k as a forward from Monmouth averaging 8 and 4, you're looking to spend $500k for a center averaging 7 and 5 ... when we already paid a center a lot in Dorries.

I just don't think it's a bottomless well. you prioritze a few guys and pay them well. then you have to work with what you have.
