2025 playoff prognostications

I watched part of the game. Happy for V.. Sad for UR. I don’t know when we will return
Also saw part of the Montana Game. Recalled UR played on the frozen field under Jim Reid and of course the game in Chatty.
Sean Gustus literally couldn’t get any footing on the frozen tundra in Missoula some 25 years ago.

I was there. It was cold and loud. Penalties hurt us a couple times and prohibited us from getting in the game. Beautiful drive to Missoula over the mountains from Spokane.

Villanova has key players, including their QB, who are grad transfers. These players would be excluded once Villanova joins the Patriot.

Need more info...do the Wildcats have academic seniors who will graduate in May, but still have a year of eligibility remaining? If so, will Patriot league rules allow them to play for Villanova as a grad student?

We have quite a few in this situation and it appears most of them have opted for the Portal for their final year...

Go Spiders!

Here is the information you requested... these players are grad transfers; such players are disallowed under PL rules. The QB and WR are key to Villanova's success.

This year the starting Villanova QB (McQuaide, Nicholls) and star receiver (Colella, Princeton) are grad transfers. Adderly (Lehigh) and Talley (UPenn) are grad transfers at Defensive Back. Larson (East Carolina) is the starting punter.

The use of student fees to pay for athletics is an abuse in my opinion. How that practice ever got approved would be an interesting story.

Thanks for the article. Unfortunately all it says is that the fee is allowed under VA State law, but not how it became allowed under the law. I have seen articles in the past that mentioned VMI as having the highest fee and that JMU was also in the top tier. It is very interesting that Virginia is a leader in the US in imposing such fees.

Reminds me of the old W. C. Fields joke, a native of the city - "First place prize in the contest is a free week in Philadelphia. Second place is two weeks." Also said, "I once spent a year in Philadelphia, I think it was on a Sunday."
