agree re the OL...we knew going into the game versus one of FCS's best defenses that our rebuilt OL would be tested...we saw it's got a ways to go but it should get better in the weeks ahead...
as for KW it did look too much like game one and two last season...I'll give Lehigh's defense some credit for that...next week against Wofford should be a better measure of what he will give us this year
though our defense ultimately gave in, it kept us in the game and gave us a chance to win despite all of the penalties...it held the Hawks to <300 yards, forced a couple of turnovers and held Lehigh to 5/13 3rd down conversions and 1/2 4th down conversions....believe they will also improve in the weeks ahead...they could continue to give us a chance until we see if the offense can catch up!
Coach Huesman is the special teams coach...he's got to be pleased with just about everything except the FG attempt...the returners had an outstanding day and so did the coverage teams...the punting was solid from a freshman and McManus had a TB and FC on kickoffs...Lehigh had virtually no return yardage...
we knew our rebuilt team was facing the best team in the Patriot League...we still had a chance to win the game in the 4th quarter despite our inexperience and mistakes...I'm hopeful we'll see further improvement next week..
bouncing back from defeat in this giant game will be a test for the team and coaching staff...how we play next week could be a better indication of where this team is headed...

UR fails to generate enough on offense to get season-opening win.
It's coaching. We have very good receivers, we didn't use them.
Until we beat them, they have earned the right to gloat. They completely outcoached us. We have lost 2 games in a row to mighty Lehigh.

Obviously we’re happy with the final score, but we all know this could have gone either way. To me the real winner today is the Patriot League as it begins this wonderful expansion, adding three world class universities. Adding Spider Nation this year and your Williamsburg friends with Nova next……….. this is gonna be one hell of a league. Welcome aboard !

LU deserved the win, to many new pieces to beat a quality team in first game. We'll be better!
Lehigh has classy fans. There is no comparison with JMU fans.
