VCU does it again… good for them.

11 appearances in 14 years. Its time to give respect to a great mid-major program, one UR at one time tried to keep pace with and challenge. Now they are in another stratosphere. They are a serious program that wants to reward their fans passion by doing all they can to succeed. Coach after coach wins. They do everything that UR doesn't and for that reason, i want them to make a run next week.

I said this in another thread:

“VCU shows time and time again that with the right institutional commitment, the right AD, and the right coach, it doesn’t matter if it’s someone’s first year with a practically new roster or not, they can be successful. You have to respect that.”

Instead, we continue to have self imposed obstacles to prevent us from achieving even a fraction of that success. We blame academics and NIL. We don’t blame coaching. Removing academic restrictions, funding a top level program, and finding a good coach who wins, brings energy, and does not make excuses. These are all things within our control that we can change. Rather, our admin is probably secretly hoping that VCU moves on to the Big East so a watered down A10 makes it easier for us to win.

Yes, its just amazing how Mooney cites how fast things are changing and we will start looking good to figure it out in the spring. Meanwhile VCU hires a new coach, one with just a couple years experience, and right back in the NCAA. Instead of at least talking tough and trying to show that we are committed we either hear nothing from Hardt, or excuses from Mooney. Just pitiful.

Mooney is probably working on returning text number 12 out of 500. Martelli probably has an AI agent managing his and optimizing and prioritizing responses.

VCU continues to do what they do…. Get a new coach every few years have their AD step to the microphone and smiling say “welcome the next Coach” to take us back to the Final Four and win A-10 Championships. It is frustrating to sit across town as a rival and hear, “ We look forward to competing this season.”

Can we congratulate VCU without dissing on us?
Apparently not.

It is obvious that since VCU is 2 & half times the academic institution we are, with 2 & half times the endowment,
Of course, they would have 2 & half times the NIL and average 2 & half times the wins…

No we cant. The whole point of the post is that I want VCU to succeed to embarrass “us” and “our” pathetic admin and “our” pathetic coach. Every success VCU has shows how horrendous a program UR has become. A once proud, historically significant program that stood toe to toe w VCU is now a laughing stock bitch slap to the Rams. So NO, dissing on the embarrassment if UR basketball and the pathetic Mooney is the entire objective.

The more silence that emanates from the Robins Center the more frustrated fans and alums are going to get. Even at prim and proper leafy UR at some point the dam (supporter frustration) is going to break as the Athletic Department refuses to take any accountability for the lack of results and doesn't even show enough respect to the fanbase to publicly state any real goals. The irony is that UR hates any type of confrontation or bad press but they are just making it worse by kicking the Mooney can down the road (Losing huge opportunities to engage/reach new fans and alienating long time loyal fans).

why not mention how we underperformed again? Becoming VCU is not a feasible, but we can do a lot better than what’s going on now. We should be preaching this to show that we are done with the mediocrity we’ve seen. We went the reverse of what you predicted (13-5, we finished 5-13) we should be dissing this program. It’s awful
