Chris Mooney (9-28) - worst rivalry coach of all time

Yesssiirrrr. Welcome back!

I thought of you the other day. I asked a chat agent to figure out Moon's win percentage against top 200 teams, and use any available ranking system. It failed saying there was not enough data or something. I said I bet Gkillers interns couldn't figure it out either haha.

But I do believe you are correct in this rivalry coaching hypothesis.

But we have the most home games in school history! And we've got a rivalry now with a team we haven't played in 49 years, so they're our primary rival now.

(Hilariously, UR is 1-9 in last 10 vs Furman and Moon is o-fer against them now, so I guess they actually could be our main rival.)

Serious question. Who decides whether game is played. Let's say the roads are still slick and Richmond doesn't feel comfortable traveling but VCU wants to play and refs are in town. Does UR have to play or can Richmond force game to be postponed?

If postponed can Richmond decide the new schedule doesn't work or is it all forced by league?

I think the roads will be clear enough by 7 pm on Tuesday for the Spiders to make it 6 miles down the road.

Welcome back GK. You didn't miss much while you were gone, as you have lived the past 20 years of the Moonman experience like the rest of us, it is a very repetitive and largely demoralizing experiences. You could check out for a year or two and come back and literally pick right up in the same state of affairs.

Exactly right 97. The only change is a new pro Mooney account or two popping up.

I hope mr. spider is doing OK. I that guy was about to lose it several years ago over the mediocrity. Hopefully he is getting like the majority of us where it is just something that we have to accept.

It's better to just not care that much. I don't. Heck, our leadership doesn't seem to be losing any sleep over the state of our program, so why should any of us.

It’s going to be another loss with VCU. Anyone who thinks we win the next game against VCU doesn’t understand the history.

I have a modicum of hope that the Spiders do the unthinkable and win. Forced myself to at least listen to the GW postgame and on it Walz stated that he was going to be out of character for the VCU game as he has never been involved in a win there. So maybe there is a spark. Also hoping that VCU figures that beating little ‘ol Richmond isn’t a big deal and lacks motivation on their side. Last, I have not been overly impressed with the bits and pieces of Rams games I have seen, so the gap isn’t as big as it has been. Definitely not optimistic, but as they say you still have to play the game.

Of course if the miracle happens, it doesn’t suddenly undo all the losing of the past.

Go Spiders!

Hope all the Forum folks in the snow/sleet/ice zone of Virginia and surrounding areas are able to get through the storm without any issues.

I have not seen anyone come up with one comparable rivalry coach yet?

Maybe the Washington Generals coach. But we are trending to the point that no one considers it a rivalry. So I guess that may be the strategy that saves moon from the distinction??
