3-1 Finish incoming

Agreed. Although my sense is this community would throw their full weight behind a piece of toast at this point.
LOL. I would give the new coach a free year in the win/loss column if he just shows some life and excitement in his press conferences, at least has a plan to share to give us hope, and, most importantly, says we will win and does not make any excuses why we won't win.

When there is a change, i hope this group will be vocal in support even if the basis is finally some hope.
FWIW, I still hold out delusional hope that we can make an A10 run. I still watch the games. I just want more winning. I'll absolutely support.

Also, to follow up my previous post about coaches in one place for 20+ years, we keep hearing on broadcasts about Martelli and Chaney now that Moon is #3 in A10 wins. It made me curious to their coaching stats.

Martelli - 24 seasons, .575 winning %. 444-328 record
7 NCAA appearances. 6 regular season A10 championships. 1 legendary #1 seed team.
Last 5 years: Losing season, Won 28 games, Losing season, .500 season, Losing season and was fired.

Chaney - 24 seasons, .671 winning %, 516-253 record.
17 NCAAs, 7 regular season A10 championships. 1 legendary #1 seed team.

Chris Mooney - 21 seasons, .551 winning %, 372-303 record.
3 NCAAs, 1 regular season A10 championship. Zero #1 seed legendary teams.

Moon not far off from Martelli for wins/win %, but Martelli made more than twice as many NCAAs, 6x more regular season titles (in some of the more competitive A10 seasons) and his highest high was extremely prominent. So it's not quite the same - he earned way more leeway with those tournaments and that #1 seed team.

Also, Martelli got canned.

I feel like the change is years away. Most of the guys who grew up on Tarrant and Beilein will be numb by then, and it seems like those that grew up on Mooney just have super low expectations or too much indoctrination from the Triumvirate.

For those of us who grew up on Lewis Mills, Carl Sloane and Goetz (all good guys by the way), we have seen the Good, the Bad and the Ugly over many years, not in that order. Would love to see the sustained Good again like in the Tarrant years.

When names like Tarrant and of course Beilein also are mentioned it brings back memories of just how good UR bb could be. One day we’ll get there again.
