2026 Portal Prospects

Here we go...we're among a long list to have been in touch with Lafayette's Christian Humphrey-Rembert. Freshman 6'9" forward out of Grand Rapids, MI. Averaged 7.7 and 6.6, starting almost every game. Only shot 38% from the field overall, but 37% from deep. 75% of his shot attempts were threes.

Apparently he originally committed to Howard, then decommitted after he realized they were going heavily after the portal and it would impact his playing time as a freshman. He then committed to Brown before doing a prep year at St. Thomas More, but ultimately enrolled at Lafayette. 🤷🏼‍♂️

We routinely beat those first three schools for recruits, which is encouraging.

A guy averaging 7 ppg at Lafayette and looks to leave at the first chance he can get either for greener pastures or unsatisfied with playing time, isn’t exactly the kind of recruit I was hoping we would go after with our increased budget.

surely wasn't playing time. he played 30 mpg. but in that time he took 1.6 two pointers and 1.5 fts per game. he's a guy standing on the 3 point line ... and he does shoot it well.

but he just finished freshman year and he so far has committed to Howard, then Brown, then a prep school, then Lafayette, and he's leaving again.
that shouldn't be rewarded with 25 schools calling.

I agree. Not with those stats and the level of competition he was playing at.

Agreed. Of course, no one knows what “contacted” actually means. Probably the equivalent of clicking on a story on the web. At least we know the staff is hard at work.

I don't get into a bidding war for Kennedy. high volume scorer shooting 2's at 46% and only hitting 13 threes all year as a guard playing 37 mpg? good rebound and assist numbers at the lower level, though. like how he probes.

Isaiah Wilson still out there. He's been around so long I guess he still has a COVID year left. He missed one entire season with injury and presumably got a medical redshirt for another one.

2020–21: Richmond (COVID year doesn't count)
2021–22: Richmond
2022–23: Winthrop (played 7 early games, apparently medical redshirt)
2023–24: Winthrop (did not play, injured)
2024–25: Winthrop
2025–26: Winthrop
2026–27: ?

If he played 30minutes and only scored 7points, even if he shoots it well he is not shooting it enough to be effective.
