2025 Richmond Spiders Football - Prologue - Howard

I don’t know how we’re winning this game, but I’ll take it. We’ve got all the momentum, so let’s finish this.

But even if we get one in the W column, yet another extremely disconcerting performance.

Agree about the performance SF, but Spiders won almost that ugly at Stony Brook a couple of years ago and got things going.

Defense wins championships I once heard, but man that was an ugly win if there is such a thing as an ugly win.

I like what alI see from Snelsire. Miles ahead of his peer. #GoSpiders
Snelshire isn't the answer unfortunately. Missed too many wide open receivers and nearly cost us the game when he underthrew another wide open receiver on the try for two after the second touchdown. I hope one of the young guys on the sideline is the answer. Sometimes you've got to win one of these to get going. We were completely out played.

Give the guy chance. Some passes were slightly out of reach but some should have also been caught. Not best conditions too.

If our guys could catch with their feet all would be good. I'm rooting for the guy, would love to see him succeed. His skill set is different from KW but he's not an upgrade.

I still can't believe we won this game. We were totally outplayed by Howard, until they and their coach made a couple of stupid plays/calls and we took advantage. But it sure is nice to be on the winning side of a game that appeared so hopeless for most of the game, and credit to the players and Huesman for somehow winning this one.

I realize we’ve lost some key players from last year, but you have to be strong at QB to run a successful offense. Look at the difference last year after Cam replaced Wick. And this year we’re back to a noticeable lack of offensive production. Not all on the QB position, but much attributed to lack of QB skill. And I think you can’t say “but look at the offense vs VMI”. That’s a game we’re supposed to dominate. Other than the VMI game, our offense is lacking. And aren’t we supposed to handle Howard reasonably well? Wonder what we’d look like offensively this year with Cam at QB.

A good QB makes a big difference. Look at what Morris has done at UVa this year. Major upgrade in offensive production.
