First sport to kick off the year with real games...hosting VMI tomorrow. The Keydets are picked to finish last in the SoCon, though they did beat Davidson in their opener last year.

The Spiders have been picked 12th in the A-10 as they continue to underwhelm heading into Denton's third season in charge. The Spiders started out strong last year at 2–0–1 but struggled most of the rest of the way.

Would really like to see some more progress this year with a few years under his belt now. He certainly had decent success at Davidson, so are we giving him the support he needs to replicate that here? Not writing his tenure off yet, but I was definitely hoping for a quicker turnaround.

Emma Newnan is far and away the offensive weapon which UR has been sorely missing for many years. She’s A-10 POY quality as only a Frosh and likely an All American candidate.UNC,BC and ND vultures will be hovering overhead in November.

Update so far on season. We have a 3-6-3 (win-loss-ties for those unfamiliar with soccer) record overall. We are 0-4 in A10 being out scored 7 goals to 0 in conference play. Not good.

Soccer has struggled offensively for many years. When we come up against quality teams,
we struggle to possess the ball. This may show that our midfield and frontline are not highly skilled
or we cannot play quickly and string 3-5 passes together or we lack athletic quickness or all of the
above.

Spiders finally get an A-10 win in their season finale, defeating the hapless Bonnies, 2–1.

Another very disappointing season after an encouraging start.

Newman scored four goals in the opener and then two the rest of the season. Of course, we only scored 15 as a team all season.

The games were close as we didn't get blown out much, but yeah, not enough scoring punch.
