My point stands except it’s convincing the board of trustees instead. Don’t get me wrong, I love the fact that Richmond is willing to invest big boy money for our basketball program. That is what teams that are serious about winning do. To me at least, it seems we’re doing it for the wrong reasons though. We’re giving this money more for Mooney to not look bad rather than with the hopes of building and sustaining a successful program. That may not be the intention, but it’s certainly how it comes across to me right now.
We have proven time and again that we will literally jump through whatever hoop is necessary to avoid firing Mooney, even at the expense of inventing problems that we can then "solve." Unserious behavior from an unserious program.
We have no fight in our admin. to make this program relevant. I don't want to lose AA, but I would rather
take a chance on having a better coach and staff for the long haul.
Yep, and I really wouldn't believe losing Mooney and AA would be nearly tied together at all. I think a new coach could sell AA on a vision that would be a lot more inspiring then Mooney. And would still have the built in local angle.
