WBB 2026 Transfer Portal

Keira next to Ally in the backcourt would be a formidable three-point duo

Ally (2025-26 - 40% 55-138) (Career - 42% 106-254)
Keira (2026-26 - 43% 67-157) (Career - 41% 180-439)

Hanson is waiting to hear on a medical redshirt, so she's not a sure thing to have any eligibility left.

Lenz, the other starter mentioned in the tweet, is a 5'10" guard who averaged 7.5 points and 7.4 boards this season. Only a 31% shooter from deep though. She is also a rising senior with only one year of eligibility left, so that could pose difficulties with our residency requirement if we potentially wanted to recruit her.

Just to wrap up a couple of names that once garnered this thread's attention:

Mia Woolfolk - Vanderbilt

Lanie Grant - TCU
TCU is spending money and has become a big destination for transfers; 10 of this year's team came in the portal. Their head coach is known to live very comfortably in the gray areas of recruiting.

Funny that many of these P4 coaches with great reputations no longer develop many of their own players. They often just take a finished product and live off someone else's recruiting/developmental chops.

I would submit that this is 100% the philosophy for many. Outside of maybe the Top 20 recruits in the country, Don't bother much with freshman recruiting because your NIL dollars aren't producing right away. A Top tier program doesn't want to pay a freshman a big bag for a development year because they need the money for a portal add who helps right away, plus big money for a freshman may be totally wasted when that kid opts to leave after the one year anyway. If I had a Top 20 program and a Top 20 budget, I literally wouldn't go after any freshman who wasn't an absolute sure fire star right out of the gate (and there are just very very few of these). I'll just wait and buy specifically what I want and need each yera!
