Random (Fun) Spiders Games: What Fun Games Do You Remember?

I've been meaning to start this thread for a while. For the diehards (most, if not all, posters are this board are probably diehards), what are fun / random games that you watched or attended particularly stick out?

I'm not talking about the historic NCAA wins, but more like just fun memories.

I'll start: first game of the Wainwright era, 92-46 win over Radford, on November 22, 2002. I was a 1L at the law school, heading into exams (stressed out of my mind), and I just remember thoroughly enjoying the beat down UR placed on the Highlanders. I was also pretty amped up for Jerry, who commented at his opening presser when hired that Richmond was a program of "national significance." I don't remember if the Robins Center was particularly full, but I do feel like the crowd was amped up for the new season. https://richmondspiders.com/news/2002/11/22/205194876

So many, so many…but many years ago, except RC win over VCU two years ago.
Another thread mentioned how quick the passing was in the worthless weave on Sat night. The VMI Carter team that advanced deep in the tournament were phenomenal passers, short crisp and quick. Likewise the Navy with the Admiral. Great passing by good position players can equalize a talented team.
Always enjoyed the Chaney Tarrant chess matches. Always felt like we had a chance under Tarrant and Beilein and old Jer, with Beileins players, no matter who we played.

I remember, it might have been Tarrants first game against VCU. It was at the coliseum and UR had this skinny kid making awesome outside shots..John Newman.

1983-1984 every home game I went to. They had a double stuff Oreo promotion and every time a Spider dunked the ball, it was free Oreos from the concession stand. Johnny Newman had at least 3 dunks a game and middle school me loved seeing the dunks and running to concessions. Most fun ever.

Home game against Rhode Island in the 2016-17 season. Was my freshman year at UR. I had chem lab that night, so I couldn’t get to the game until mid first half. I vividly remember walking in, finding a seat, and immediately hearing Hurley smashing his clipboard on the floor and cursing about something. We ended up winning that game but URI ended up winning the A10 tourney.

I still can’t believe we lost the A10 tourney semifinal game to VCU that year. Sherod hit a three to put us up late. Then Lewis immediately hit a crazy contested three to force OT. I still think if he misses that shot, we go on to win the tourney and Cline/Shawndre go dancing.

It was definitely ‘73. I was a Senior and had played high school ball (TJ) against Alan Bristow (Henrico) and we were the same year. Three different Hokies fouled out trying to guard Aaron Stewart who went for 44 if I remember correctly.

70s were so long ago, I cannot be sure of any year but graduation(76). I remember McCurdy and Gray also had good games. I think Charlie Thomas and Bobby(pg) ? was on that Tech team. The RC was packed and very loud. Alan Bristow was a good guy and his family were very nice also. Watched them in HS swim at the Ginter Park Community Center with the Howards.

Pugger!

Most reading this will not remember this because of age (lack of). About 60 years ago, 3 avid Spider Fans walked onto the court dressed as officials wearing sunglasses and walking with canes. It was hilarious. This was likely during our Southern conference days
