First off, congratulation to our men’s lacrosse team on winning the A10 regular season title! It is a great accomplishment and no easy feat in a solid conference. I’m glad we won because it gives this great senior class at least one title before they leave and guarantees us in the NCAA tournament and even with a chance to host if we lost in the A10 tournament.

It’s great to see us play strong and pull away against High point as a rivalry game, for the A10 regular season championship, at their home field. I just don’t understand why we can’t have strong face off guys on this team. It’s our one Achilles heel and a big one at that. If we had High Point’s FO guy, we could legitimately win a national championship. We still can, which just speaks to how good this program is. I’m sure Chemotti can go to any top FO guy and say “you are the missing piece to winning a national championship” as a recruiting pitch.

As far as the A10 tournament goes. If we are solely looking at it from maximizing our chances for a top seed perspective, we should all root for High Point to beat Saint Joseph’s. While High Point will play even more motivated in the finals to get the AQ, I think we match up better against them and have the psychological advantage as well. If we play Saint Joseph’s in the final, it will be an absolute dog fight.

They don’t like us and we don’t like them. It’ll be their Super Bowl x2 and this time with the AQ on the line so they’ll play with extra motivation especially after losing to us last week. I also hope we don’t have a mental lapse knowing we will be in the NCAA tournament. I think playing the game at home will be a much needed advantage. It’ll be much more satisfying as a fan to beat Saint Joseph’s in the final but they are also the team most likely to beat us. I guess we’ll see how the chips fall.

Gaylord is pretty decent and was highly rated coming out of high school, though he does seem to have regressed some in the second half of the season. Shortcomings were magnified today with HPU being one of the top FO teams in the country.

He’s also a freshman going up against more experienced FOGOs. He was highly rated but not the highest in his class. I didn’t think he’d play as much as he has this year. As he continues to get stellar get and more experienced in future years, I’m sure he will be one of the best in DI.
