Jaden Daughtry - Transfer Commit - 2 years of Eligibility

I made that comp too, but think Daughtry looks a bit more skilled, and more variety to his game.

Early on I thought the player comparison for Daughtry was Cayo. Definitely not the correct player type. The closest match since I have restarted watching Spider basketball is a leaner Derrick Williams. Gong to be a fun player to watch.
Yes, he reminds me of D-Will as well. Think he should be sliding into the starting line-up once he is fully back up to speed from his offseason medical issues.

I saw at least a few ECU guys step out of his way to avoid getting bowled over. An intimidating presence when he gets momentum toward the basket for sure.

That's scary. I kind of figured it was not something very straightforward with the lack of info and timelines earlier. Hope he can continue on without issue. I think it is encouraging that he has played two full seasons already.

practically whether we agree or not, probably all players either need an agent unless they have a family/friend figure with a law degree or savvy with AI to ensure contracts are understood etc - I hope he returns but not sure ...
Not sure AI is at a point where you can trust it for legal advice

there's precedent for NIL agreements ... even at UR and Daughtry already had one.
could use an agent to determine your worth.
but I think this means he's leaving.

Agree on the leaving part. The whole piece reads like a promo piece so he is selling. Possible its to us, but seems unlikely

Why wouldn't he leave? He played 16 minutes a game on a 5-14 A10 team that started 4 guards and desperately needed size on the floor. If he couldn't get more than 16 minutes this year, how would he even get that next year, when we hopefully add some needed size.

Same with Thomas IMO. We started 4 guards and he wasn't one of them, and only averaged 14 mpg. I don't expect more minutes for either player next year if they stayed, and they had to be pretty frustrated overall this year.
