Depth/Frosh

Don’t want to beat a dead horse about depth, but we could be seeing a changing of the guard
with 6’5 Harper joining 6’5 Lopez with 6’3 Johnson 5’11 AA. Finally taller guards, but will we see reduced
time for Tyne who I think has digressed from last season. I remember Nova a few years ago playing 5
players 6’7 or less but no guard less than 6’0 and being very successful. Played up tempo and shot well.
Could see Daughtery playing a 5 with Robinson 6’6 or AP at 6’8 playing 4 or just all positionless.

This team should improve more based on simply playing more together. I think we may see more of our
frosh unless our returners like Tanner and Tyne really step up.

Mooney needs to coach the rest of the season as if he's coaching for his job. Of course we all know his job is safe for all eternity, but another crappy season after last year would be a really bad look, and there's not much margin for error to prevent that from happening right now.

I'm hopeful that we are seeing the implementation of this mindset, with the best players playing, but time will tell.

he survived 2 really bad years in a row once, but maybe only because the young pieces were in place for a bounce.
I'm not sure we'd overlook back to back awful years again.

it would be tough to put up an awful overall record this season with that OOC schedule though.

I said that last year too and Moon said hold my beer.

But B. Artis, GWIII, Glou, Beagle and Nescovic were all very disappointing last season, compared with Lopez, Daughtry and Johnston this season. Along with Glou and Beagle refining their roles and having somewhat better years now.

right, Tanner is a junior, once he is recovered likely that Harper is back on the bench.

Yep, we would need to go 5-13 or worse A-10 to have an overall record below .500 this year. 6-12 with a tourney loss would leave us at 16-16. Which, would still mean back to back awful years to me because we should never go 6-12 in what is a very average A-10 right now. I will again be hoping for a top 4 finish, but we will have to play much better defense to get there.
