We had Chad Cook in for an official visit this past week. He’s an athletic 6’8 forward, would be a good get in my opinion.

Don't see a ton of highlights out there, what I do see is a big strong, live bodied player. More of a down low type player. Like Homenick, everything is at the rim. But I do like how he uses his leverage down in the post.
I don't see him or Homenick as coming in as perfect fits for our 5 position, but who knows. I do like his ability to bang down low from day 1.

Didn’t Iona or some other small mid major school get a 4 star recruit recently? Same with Liberty. The hope was with NIL, we would be able to compete for the top players in the country, since P4s will likely focus on impact transfers of guys looking to play up.

Exactly, these guys (top HS recruits) are definitely falling through the cracks and available. Have seen a few high major coaches basically say they are not going after HS recruits. But somehow we are not benefitting. Peculiar. Or maybe not.

Chad Cook could be a good acquisition. Appears to be an adequate shooter, handles well, solid passer, nice post moves and has a thick body that allows him to get where he wants to go. Like the fact that he is from a high level program that has produced the likes of Lawrence Moten, Ed Cooley, Wes Miller, Cuonzo Martin and a number of first or second round draft picks. Would be a great fit for our Spiders as he is also an excellent student. Hope we can get him.

Has grown as a back-to-basket scorer, while have the skill to make 3’s and face up jumpers. Improved defender and rebounder. He had offers from Farleigh Dickinson and Stonehill. How come in the NIL era other mid majors are landing really highly ranked high school recruits and we seem to be going in the opposite direction, where are recruits are getting worse?
