I'll be using this thread similarly to the one from the Rivals forum, as sort of an index of other recruiting threads to keep tabs on guys we've offered and who have committed. Feel free to discuss non-offer-related recruiting topics here or in separate threads...guys where we've just expressed interest, notable recruiting news from around the A-10 and beyond, etc.

RichmondNative and I debated that a bit. I was a little concerned people might not click over into this subforum, but he convinced me to give this a shot. One of the great things about having active users running things entirely is we can easily make changes if something isn't working the way we like it.

Yes. I agree that having more control over the layout is a great thing. Glad I have at least one person that likes the subforum for recruiting. @Spider17 👍

Seems awful quiet on the recruiting front. We don’t have any history on the new site for me to look back on, but from my recollections past years there was significant activity in August. We have now turned the page to September.

Keep seeing the Broad St boys killing it on the recruiting front with a bunch of their best ranked recruits ever. They are obviously “all in” and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them leave the A10 in a couple of years.

First, thanks @SFspidur for managing the recruiting tracker.

Came to take a look after hearing Mooney say that because of the portal there is just an “A” list of high school recruits when there used to be an A and a B list. Looking at the tracker, there is a single player that hasn’t committed, the Spiders have 2 commits, and the rest went elsewhere. When reviewing the schools that the Spiders lost the recruits to, it surely isn’t the list of schools that I would want to be the Spiders competition and in general I wouldn’t expect to lose recruits to these schools. No wonder there aren’t many success stories. Despite what Mooney says, the plan has to be to get players out of the portal with multiple years to play that fit his system.

So again Mooney misinformation that in a small media market, with a severe lack of interest (created by Moon and Hardt), is not challenged and used as a long game extender. Shocking I tell you 😀.

In reality while other mid majors are reaping the benefits of power conference indifference to top hs recruits, we are fishing in a shallower pool than most. MOONEY.

Hell, we lose a priority recruit to Wofford, with a first time coach who creates the illusion of a culture that exceeds that which our 39 year tenured coach could paint. MOONEY.

I honestly like the looks of the tape of both Caldwell and Cook, and thet may both turn out to be legit upper level A10 players. But, in this environment on the top schools actually punting on HS recruiting, and other mid majors cleaning up, this is not a confidence inspiring class. Just more mooniocrity. Simmons has some high level interest and athleticism, but overall this class is really not doing it.

Finding diamonds in the rough seems like an unnecessarily hard path to success in today’s environment for a mid-major program with a commitment to basketball. The stay off the radar plan is in full effect.

Like the Simmons commit and was hoping that would lead to others of the same ilk, but didn’t happen.
