Cutter Sisk - 2026 Offer

No question that UR is the highest level offer. Comes down to the fit with the coaching staff and I suppose these days what the offer sheet looks like.
How do you support UR being the highest offer? I don’t know who the bear represents but Wofford and Kennesaw State were over 100 places above UR last year.

I am as unhappy as anyone with the state of Men’s basketball, but 1 year doesn’t represent a program. Plus, conference association alone makes it a better offer. The A10 is a higher ranked conference than Conference USA, the Southern Conference and the ASUN.

Wofford did earn an unexpected bid to the dance by winning its tournament as a 6 seed last year, but hadn’t done anything since Mike Young left in 2019. Kennensaw St has made the tournament once and it was recently 22-23, but then lost its coach (who then tragically passed away I believe). So if we look at a 4 yr window all the 3 teams have made the NCAAs once, but no doubt Richmond is the highest offer.

Yes, if I were to read those comments as a neutral observer, I would say he has us 4th on the list. So hopefully he is just sandbagging. Do think this guy would be a perfect fit. Not many places where he would have the ball in his hand as much as here. No matter what the other coaches sell, the guards are going to be the main facilitators at those places. At UR he will be the main facilitator.

I agree. If he really wants significant playing time as a freshman, UR sure isn’t known for that of late.

true, but he'd almost have to play right away next year. he's really just competing with Homenick at the 5. can't ask for a much better path to playing time at the A10 level.

I'm left wondering what it is that we "stand for" that differentiates us ... though I'm glad it does, lol. maybe he'll explain that further on 10/17.

McGeehan trying to pull a MoJo and stab Mooney in the back to lock down one of our top priorities.

This year’s preseason KenPom ranks:

UR - 119
Kennessaw St - 141
Wofford - 224
Central Arkansas - 346

Again a one year sample and have yet to play, but this aligns with my thought on UR being the highest offer on the table.

Getting a hard press from Wofford though and wouldn’t be surprised if they offer a promise of more playing time as a freshman.

And as NICE as a guy as Mooney is, McGeehan may come across as a NICER guy hahaha. Though he is only the assistant.

Still a few days to go, got in there after Wofford for last-minute push but is our timing right or did we try to close too soon? Maybe Mooney is bunking at Sisk's house all week to be sure.

Obviously his dad not really going by any academic rankings out there. The wildcard is how much of a salesman Giltner is, and not sure Mooney is as much on that front. Wofford has gone to NCAA's more since 2010. Know a guy who's son played at a D1 school. Coach got fired. They hired an "NBA guy" with no college head coaching guy. Entire roster left - which probably not unusual with today's free agency. This dad said new coach seemed good, but with no history was just so unsure that seemed to hurt retention. Seems Wofford has a crazy situation going on there. Giltner had ZERO head coaching experience, but he may have some great salesmanship so we will see how this lands.

If I were Cutter, the other thing is - as much as I may bang on Mooney - he has super super super history of developing big men and letting them actually have the ball in their hands and make plays and highest usage rate out there. Giltner cannot show that , no matter what he tries to sell, you just don't know.
