KenPom rankings for this seaon are out. We start at 119. Our neighbors with the brand new coach start at 60. Seeing tweets on X about the VCU black gold game, a few said it was best turnout since Shaka. Meanwhile we operate in the shadows.
SF or anyone - if you still have your KP subscription - do you know how to pull up the new coaches ratings feature? I have seen top 25 coach ratings from KP posted on X, but can't seem to figure it out in KP?

I didn’t bother renewing my KP subscription in the middle of last year’s disaster.
119 would be a nice leap forward after last year’s 247. But while normally you could view that as building toward something, in this transfer era every year feels like a starting from scratch, win now endeavor.

And hey I would be perfectly fine with mooniocrity was laying low and hiding, if he was winning and going to NCAAs. But the fact that he is not, and scared to schedule anyone, and hides and loses some more makes it unacceptable that he is not doing more to raise the profile and get fans and recruits.
Or if he had a hype man like a Woj. Instead we have a GM (is he even specific to men's hoops) no has ever heard of.

I can't find any coach rankings, but I did find this comparison of kenpom preseason rankings to final rankings. We tend to do worse than the kenpom preseason rankings, haha. Can't upload pictures directly to this site, but I might take the time to manually transcribe the pre/post rankings eventually.

For the record, I don't put too much into these exhibition or SS results. But our defensive debacle vs ECU last year ended up being very telling. I mean when you let the other team shoot 99% (or whatever it was 
) from 2 pt range, that is a terrible indicator - and it played out.
Rim protection and interior D may be a problem for us again. Walz is a big physical body in there, but lateral defense and shot blocking I don't believe are his strengths. Daughtry still getting up to speed, but at 6'7 and reports out there that defensive end is an issue is not ideal. Hopefully, JRob and Beagle can provide interior defensive help when in the game. And hopefully Walz doesn't have to do too much and pick up early fouls.

I saw that too. Unless, he is one step ahead and he is saying that the squad was broken up to two distinct teams for this scrimmage. The scrimmage was between the two distinct entities, thus inter.
But I digress, my main point is there is ZERO buzz around our team, meanwhile VCU was all over the interwebs and X. Again, none of this actually proves anything for the regular season - other than there doesn't seem to be much urgency and excitement year to year from our athletic department and program.

is that really a shocker? Rutgers underachived last year and then all their best players left.
