2025–26 Spider men's basketball schedule

yeah read and thought the same thing - and close to absurd to me for it not to include any mention of the women's team and prospects for the upcoming season and why we should all consider women's season tix too
I don't think it is the MBB job to promote the women's team in their OOC schedule release presser. That said, Mooney certainly does not want any comparison to be drawn between our women's team, both it's success and schedule, and the program he is leading. One of our two basketball teams is acting like a flagship sport that is planning for postseason play, the other is using a bunch of fluff talk in its press releases.

The comment from Sec 9 was in reference to the AD e-mail about primarily UR Fall Sports, but for some reason included the awesome news (/s) about the Men’s OOC schedule release.

My message did mention the separate Men’s OOC release but I said something along the lines of “and now we have” meaning that both the OOC statement AND the official AD e-mail are touting the highest number ever of home games, just like I expected.

My bad. I got confused with the attribution of the quote.

That said, the fact they are touting "the highest number of home games" as some great success for the program shows either how stupid they are or more than likely how stupid they think the fan base is. Most basketball fans know that a non-major program playing a bunch of home games is kryptonite to a team's postseason opportunities.

I finally got a call from the ticket office this morning about my season ticket renewal. I wasn’t available at the time they called -probably to the relief of the caller. Left a message without any specific due date and no call back number. I guess we live in the world of caller ID, but I always leave a number. Old school perhaps.

Got one today as well ( posted on another thread)....I haven't listened to the vm yet

No doubt that the Southern Va matchup will be broadcast nationally due to widespread demand. It doesn’t get better than that for coverage.
True, but since this is A10 conference game news you will still have to wait in suspense on that game’s coverage.

2nd year in a row with no Friday night A10 game for us. Surprised we got as many nationally televised games as we did.

And the UR press release:

Unless there’s a mistake on the website, it says our game against Furman is on ESPN2 and the final will be on ESPN2 as well. So up to 11 total regular season games can be nationally televised. Much better than I expected.

As someone who doesn’t have cable and lives far away, I prefer when our games are on ESPN+
The “nationally televised” moniker doesn’t mean as much anymore as people have to pay for such games and with all the competition in the streaming space there isn’t one dominant service. The cable “lock in” is gone and I don’t think a team gets better exposure on CBS Sports Network than ESPN+ honestly. But old habits die hard and market speak is market speak.

Personalty, I would prefer that all the games are on one service and ESPN is the closest to that option.

That would be assuming we make the Final of our crappy ass tournament. I doubt the 3rd place game gets on ESPN2 (maybe it does).
