Trolling Report: William and Mary

William and Mary, as an institution, has been delusional since 1693. The Indians got 10 schmoes together and figured out what the school wanted to be when it grew up. The school studied other schools and these schools to be its peers.

Among others, they want to be like UNC, University of Southern California, and The University of Georgia (THUGA). The list includes other notable schools like Stony Brook and Northeastern.

We all know that the Indians actually look up to JMU, Norfolk State, Hampton, Towson and Campbell.

It's time the Indians admitted that they are who they are- mired in mediocrity. It's almost been 350 years.

All this, because they have an inferiority complex towards Richmond.

W&M adopts peer group based on strategic direction

William & Mary’s Board of Visitors today adopted a set of peer institutions, which serves as a reference point for benchmarking and strategic goal-setting activities.

William and Mary has great hopes for its prospects to join the A10. One too many of these guys has been inhaling the wrong fumes in the science lab.

"If we win 1-2 conference titles and go dancing, it shows it's a decent model and we've achieved a slightly less exciting version of the Richmond model. If we string together a few in a row we can even make our pitch to the A10."
Response: W&M has never won a basketball conference title. Ever.

"If Fordham dropped out of the A10, I would say there is a good chance W&M would get an invite. Richmond, Mason, GWU, and VCU would be supportive."

1. It’s good to have goals.
2. WM is in a construction faze and building like crazy.
3. Great art museum on campus, the Muscarelle, just reopened
4. W and I have attended three men’s bb games this year. Fun and exciting. The fan base is a big mix of ages and supportive. Sound system is awesome and they have a pep band and engaged student section.
5. They have quite a few well heeled financial supporting alums, male and female.
6. They still have a men’s swimming program (and women’s) and a very active masters swim team of alums (Club Tribe).
So delusional or not they appear to be steering their frigate in some direction and make a big effort to engage alums.
I’m hoping they make the dance this year. They are one of the three schools never to dance.

Hope springs eternal for our friends down the road. At this pace, the Indians aren't making the dance anytime soon. A better bet is that William and Mary at some point will be the last team to have never made the NCAA tournament.

One another point, is making the dance once enough to bring them into the A-10?
