Spiders No. 19

Spiders check in with 7 points in this week's AP Poll, only losing three since last week. Good for a tie for 28th with Texas Tech. Texas at #2, TCU at #8, and Fairfield stubbornly hanging in there with one point week after week.

After debuting at #36 in the NET on Monday, the Spiders had slipped to #38 heading into last night's game. With the win, they're now #37 after moving ahead of idle Illinois, so not really any impact today.

Davidson moved up three spots to #45 with their 17-point win over Duquesne last night.

Spiders drop 10 spots in the NET to 47, while Fairfield rises 10 spots to 38.

Davidson is now the A-10 leader at #43.

No points for the Spiders in this week's AP poll. Fairfield also lost the one point they had been consistently getting, as their big win over us wasn't enough to offset their loss to Howard.

Not a great rivalry loss to Charlotte for Davidson. That's a Q4, though it could move up to a Q3 as Charlotte is decent.

Davidson trailed NC State 20–4 after a quarter, but they clawed almost all the way back and had the deficit down to just 1 a couple of times in the fourth before the Wolfpack finished on an 8–0 run to take the 68–59 win. That was the A-10's only loss on the day though as they went 6–1. No major scalps, though they did take down a few mediocre P4 teams with the Spiders of course defeating Penn State, Duquesne beating Pitt, and GW beating Northwestern.

Spiders continue to bounce around a narrow range in the NET. They slipped from 42 to 45 after beating Alabama A&M by a smaller margin than you'd expect, but bounced back up to 43 after yesterday's win.

Rhody sits at 51, Davidson actually rose a spot to 54 even though they lost to NC State, St Joe's is at 64, and Mason is at 66 to make a clear top 5 in the A-10. Lots of A-10 programs in the 180–210 range that need to step it up to move the A-10 forward.
