Assistant coach
Who negotiates with the players and player agents on these NIL signings.

Serious question. I think, based on Sec9 feedback and the official job description - Merritt is more on the fundraising side.

We don't have an official GM.

SF, did you mention Darian Dollar is an "assistant GM"? Or did I misread that.

Just curious how this works, assume assistants and Mooney recruit the players - and it gets to the point where there is interest and then would hand off to a money/contract guy? Or maybe not.

I think some have indicated the money discussion happens first with the agent and school, but that does not make sense to me.

Anyone know?

I still don't understand the role of GM.
in pro sports, the Coach answers to the GM. The GM can fire him.
so isn't the AD really the GM in college?

I think the operative word there is "pro". I don't know much about it for CBB, but I get the impression the GMs are adjacent to the coach and perhaps report to the AD but don't oversee/manage/hire/fire the coach.

I have no actual knowledge, purely based on what I've read.

It's all pro now. College is just minor league pro sports, basketball for sure.

Dollar disappeared from the list of coaches before last season, and then Rothstein tweeted that he had moved to Assistant GM "per release." But then nothing more about that and I don't know what he does. You'd think he'd still be on the coaches/support staff page, but he's not.

Assistant to the assistant manager, Darion Dollar.
