Patriot League media day was Wednesday. Lehigh was picked to top the league with the Spiders in second. Five Spiders on the preseason all-conference team.

And the quality of the Patriot is only going to go up with W&M and Villanova entering the fray. I know there has been plenty of debate, but I think the football team is in a good place. The CAA is stuck living in past glory.

I do not understand the continued backfilling with weak teams to just drag things down further. There's no pressing need to go from 12 to 13. Yeah, if you drop to 10 or maybe even 11, you kinda look around so you're ready to move if you lose anyone else, but they're just continuing to proactively water things down.

I do realize Sacred Heart football was looking for a home since they moved the rest of their sports from NEC to MAAC, but that's their problem to solve, not the CAA's. It's not like "letting" some other conference snap them up was going to be bad for the CAA.

Yep exactly, expanding just for the sake of expansion...
