Mooney on the horn to PQ

So with the Women's getting their third bid and 2nd at-large in three years (or the same total bids and one MORE at-large bid than Mooney has in 21 years), I have a sense that Mooney is on the phone now to PQ trying to get him to either (a) slash the NIL and coaching salary commitment to the women's program or (b) make some donations to a Penn State or the like to encourage them to take Rousell away. Can't have him and his crummy "let's have some big expectations and let's go for it" program culture misleading the basketball fans about how hard it really is to just compete!

It really does bring into question if the difference between men and women’s basketball is so vast that we should have this wide a delta between the two programs.

I don’t think it is but willingly admit that maybe it’s just totally different.

My take is its certainly different but our place in the respective landscapes shouldn't be so different. So, if you look at VCU, they are way better on the Men's side, but that's clearly because they are choosing to invest significantly more (on a relative basis) in their men's program. More (relatively and not just absolutely) in NIL, more in coaching salary, probably more in facilities, training etc. too. I don't think we can say we invest more (again on a relative basis) in our women than our men's program.

So - - its what Father said immediately above!

And their decision making is smarter in all aspects related to basketball - on and off court. The proof is in the relative comparison of success of the two programs.

There are clearly huge coaching and recruiting differences between our coaches, both favoring Roussell.
