Trying to make sure I read this right. You’re a spider fan who could have gone to the UR game but opted to go to the VCU game instead? Not great, but also let's not overreact to one game.
I do feel partly responsible. Friend had an extra to the VCU game so I went to that. i admit last two games have been a gut check
Obviously he was scouting the Bonnie’s /sTrying to make sure I read this right. You’re a spider fan who could have gone to the UR game but opted to go to the VCU game instead?
In town for holidays, a friend invited me to VCU game, so yes. I'm seeing Richmond--Sunday and I saw them against Charleston Souther.. i decided for what i thought would be a more electric atmosphere and catching up with a friend.Trying to make sure I read this right. My last comment as far as my Richmond fandom--no need for me to justify myself anymore. I'm a college basketball fan first and foremost. I root for Richmond--have been going to games since I was 5. I'll go to a random GW/LaSalle game, or Mason/Rhody game, make several Georgetown games a year (though that's more like a mosaleum). I root for Richmond, if they do well that's awesome, if not the ball keeps bouncing.Yeah, I spider fan goes to a VCU game! Troll all the way. Of course he loves Mooney

@SpiderWill Thanks for stopping by. We will be here when UR has its next highlight and we will leave some room on the bandwagon.Your unbridled support is appreciated.
Not questioning your fandom but I think you’re confirming what I posted about on your original thread regarding personal expectations. Everyone has their own motivations, mine is that they perform at a level commensurate with everything they have going for them.My last comment as far as my Richmond fandom--no need for me to justify myself anymore. He was probably given a free ticket. So why not take up the offer? He saw VCU beat someone. Unfortunately, I have to watch as we try to compete over here.In town for holidays, a friend invited me to VCU game, so yes. This is what is wrong with the casual spiders fan. The idea of “hey the team is not good this year, oh well let’s hope for a better one next year!” Why not have the mindset of making the program better? Why do people act like that isn’t a possibility? My last comment as far as my Richmond fandom--no need for me to justify myself anymore. I'm a college basketball fan first and foremost. Thank you for confirming you are a troll. Have no idea what you’re trying to argue you’re just trying to gaslight the board at this point. Enjoy your casual hoops at the Costco center hope you don’t catch a disease thereHappy new year to all,
One thing i want to also point out and i hadn't yet--and today's RTD was further evidence is academics. Academics are real at UR--cutting down on practice and other logistical prep time. There was article in today's RTD (my folks might be the one house in Richmond that still get a print edition) on GW game and notes and it mentioned how Richmond was staying on the road and doing Fordham/ST BONA in one swing. This was made possible because school is on break. I know for a fact that if Richmond misses more than one day of class it needs administrative approval. When St. Bona came here and played VCU and Richmond they set up camp in Richmond for almost a week. In fact we were classy enough to let them practice the whole week at our place.
Carson Beck mentioned yesterday in post game interview last night he studies football from 6AM til after dinner. At Richmond that wouldn't fly.
Just one more thing for you all to consider.
Having the resources to fly charter to games really makes that a nothing burger.Happy new year to all,

From AI: An internet troll is a person who intentionally posts inflammatory, offensive, or off-topic messages online to provoke emotional reactions, disrupt discussions, or cause trouble, often for amusement or malicious intent, using tactics like baiting, derailing conversations, or spreading confusion in forums, social media, and games. The behavior, called trolling, aims to upset others rather than engage in good-faith debate, differing from genuine criticism by its malicious intent to incite conflict and distress.Thank you for confirming you are a troll. Id argue VCU and Richmond both had their breakout years in 2011. One program continued to be successful and one choose to be in mediocrity. Academics cannot be an excuse for a coach who is making more than $1M and has been for 10 plus years now. You could also argue Davidson has been more competitive than us in the last decade. And Duquesne did the same thing we did (make a miracle run in the a10) the difference is their coach knew that was the peak of his career (unlike ours)From AI: An internet troll is a person who intentionally posts inflammatory, offensive, or off-topic messages online to provoke emotional reactions, disrupt discussions, or cause trouble, often for amusement or malicious intent, using tactics like baiting, derailing conversations, or spreading confusion in forums, social media, and games. i think i fall into the good faith debate category not trying to create distress and I know what I'm trying to argue. My arguement is that Richmond is a much harder job than VCU, Mason, Dayton etc. The last decade we've had more success than Davidson, Duquense, St. Joe, LaSalle, Fordham etc. I think that's what you have to compare us to.
The comment about catching a disease at the Siegel Center is just stupid. Every school is not Princeton. There are doctors and people from every walk of life at the Siegel Center.
