Spiders at preseason #10. We open the season hosting #1 Maryland, while we also host #4 Georgetown and #13 Virginia. We play at #6 Cornell and versus #7 Notre Dame in Chicago. A-10 foe High Point was listed among those also considered.

Can't help but notice the scheduling difference between Spider LAX and MBB, the difference between ascending and descending.

Posting this video again. Great video if you all have time to watch. Can tell the boys have great chemistry. Particularly love around the 8:25 mark where Aiden gives a shoutout to President Hallock for his support of lacrosse, calling Richmond a lacrosse school. Then Pilling gives a shoutout to the women’s basketball team too saying we’re a women’s basketball and lacrosse school. I have to agree with them at this point. Super excited for this season! Assuming weather is good next weekend, I expect the brick house to be pretty full.

The notoriety and success of those programs is directly tied to their respective head coaches and their staffs.

#7 Richmond

The Spiders’ home opener with Maryland was postponed. They defeated Robert Morris 17-7 on Saturday after a 3-3 first quarter tie. A 7-1 run in the second quarter made the difference. With 54 shots, Dan Chemotti’s team kept the pressure on. Joe Sheridan scored four times. Aidan O’Neil added six points. Gavin Creo and Lucas Littlejohn were productive. Remember these guys? They gave Cornell one of their toughest games of 2025 in the NCAA Quarters and return a boatload of talent. Connor Knight started in net and Vincent Gaylord is the new main FOGO. This team is going to be a problem. Richmond’s non-A10 schedule features Virginia, Georgetown and Notre Dame.
