Hopefully Gaylord is back in the line-up. Just a freshman, but we’re going to need him to grow into this role and quickly. The FO has been our biggest weakness as a team.

Solid first quarter. 2-2. Vincent 4-5 on face-offs. Love seeing that. Spiders settling for some bad shots on offense but otherwise everything else has looked really solid so far.

Lots of UR shots,their goalie having a good day.

Too much perimeter passing.We’ve got to take it inside the perimeter.

We are soft on the challenge.Go after the goalie and his defenders directly.

Spiders down 4-2 at half. Tight defensive battle. Cornell’s goalie has been really good and Cornell’s defense hasn’t given us many open looks. Spiders lucky with 3 or 4 posts that Cornell had this half. Gaylord has been fantastic so far today. Interesting to see the Spiders implementing a 10 man ride. Don’t think we’ve done this in other seasons before.

Spiders in a deep hole for this type of game. Down 3 in 3rd. Goalkeeping has been the bigger factor along with what appears to be less than optimal shot selection when Spiders are on offense.

Don’t watch much lacrosse but this broadcast is weird. Seems like 2 guys commentating from home while game is happening in NY.

WTG men! Just saw the final 30 seconds or so. When was the last time we defeated the defending national champion in any sport? Indiana basketball in 1988?

What a gutsy performance from the spiders. That midfield group is special. I ate my words, Gaylord showed up and was probably the reason we were able to win. Knight looked strong again. This team really doesn't have any holes. See you all in Charlottesville come May.

Best part of today is 2 things. 1) the fact we have a legitimately great face-off player in freshman Vincent Gaylord and 2) the fact the spiders could come through in a tight game. How many times have we seen us lose these kinds of close games to great teams over the years? Win against Georgetown next week and we will have a terrific resume 6 games in.
