Mike Walz - Senior - Eligibility ends after '25-26 season

I don't think it's any of that. I think it is simply he's not an alpha dog and he plays like it.
While I think playing in Mooney's system for 4 years will take the alpha out of most dogs and especially so when you place your 6'11 strong as on ox center out at the 3 point line with his back to the basket regularly as part of our offense. But also I agree Walz never was an alpha to begin. Mooney's been telling him to shoot more and be more assertive for 4 years and he hasn't done it. He's just not wired that way. And maybe our 21 year tenured head coach should have recognized that like 2-3 years ago.

Mike's a starter and a good player. he's never been a guy to hunt his own shot. he's probably happier with a good assist than his own bucket, and there's nothing wrong with that. he's a 5 most guys would like to play with. but on a good team he's the 4th or 5th offensive option.

we do have other good players around him. but we don't have the big guns you need. AJ is close. AA might become that.
