I truly believe you could give Mooney a 10 mil Nil budget and the results

Next thing you know, guys will be restructuring their NIL contracts to get immediate talent around them now and get their own pay later. It'll be a Bobby Bonilla Day scenario with guys getting their NIL payouts spread out annually for 25 years after they graduate.

Probably need a new course in our business school to keep up with this and prepare students for future involvement and admin of this new world order of college sports.

I'm dizzy from all this NIL discussion. Why is the NCAA just sitting on the sidelines, why don't they step in with some restrictions and cap the $ ? This feces is totally out of control.

The courts have neutered the NCAA with decisions favoring the athletes ( I hesitate to call them student-athletes). Wait, wait, wait for this…. Congress will need to resolve by law.

Do we even know it was less?
he never hit the portal so I don't think it got to the point of NIL offers.
Schertz is guessing (probably correctly) that Avila's high major market value was greater than what he could offer at SLU, and Avila was good with their number.

What that doesn’t state is how much $ Avila got. It only implied a relative concept.
Big time basketball and hoops players are some of the most highly compensated employees of many universities now (which there certainly is a really bad societal statement here about the value we place on education vs. athletics/entertainment).

But as such, shouldn't their salaries be publicly available, specifically at public schools where public dollars are being used to support the program. I don't know how these NIL salaries get shrouded in secrecy and the fact that they are leaves them open to all sorts of abuse. I also think if the public knew how much even players were making at a place like UR, it would really turn public opinion against NIL.

This is also why a lot of students don't see players as peers anymore.
