Game Thread - @SLU Wednesday 2/4 8pm ESPN+

SLU has some size, but we’re handling it. Persichetti with some good minutes. 20–11 Spiders after one.

Doogan with 2 fouls late in the quarter and only 2 points is something to watch.

Simon is liking being back on her old home court. Looks like her old self tonight.

Spiders rolling even without Doogan offense is nice to see. Getting pretty balanced contributions from everyone.

And Davidson seconds away from another loss - this time to the Bonnies. It's becoming a pretty clear three-team race.
I was also rooting hard for the Hawks to no avail…they went up 50–47 on Rhody with 7:50 to go and then didn’t hit another field goal until there were 30 seconds left in the game.

92 points and no triple OT to get into the 90s.

Simon kept it going and Maggie got a quick
14 in 2nd half. R Wright really looks good. I think she has gotten past the freshman jitters now.

Go Spiders!
after going unbeaten in January, I believe Coach Roussell said in his VCU postgame February 1 that he thought the team would be better in February than it had been in January.

a 30 point road win over arch rival VCU followed by a 48 point road win over the Billikens has me believing!

this is what outstanding coaches do year after year, their teams get better as the year progresses until they are playing their best basketball at the most important time of the season...Coach Tarrant was a great example of this coaching trait...Coach Roussell looks like an expert too

I hope our Athletic administration is recognizing the contrast between programs...one playing its best basketball when battling for a regular season title and A-10 Championship...the other trying to figure out who wants to play hard!

Go Spiders!

A win this weekend vs Mason at home would be our 30th straight home A10 win. That's an unreal stat that I don't think gets nearly enough attention.
