It’s gotten to the point where I truly feel sorry for our guards out there on defense. None of them signed up to be stuck defending big men in the post, but Mooney is incapable of adjusting anything without first seeing a 15 year sample size of failure.

He wont quit. In addition to the money, he has a son who is a sophomore in HS. Im sure CM wants to coach him at UR.

This is too funny and classic Mooney. Focusing on something dumb like this instead of trying to coach the game and make adjustments or try to do something to change the trajectory of the season.

They did at halftime. Lowest alumni attendance in recent memory. Mostly guys from the 60’s and 80’s. Only guys from recent teams were Roche and walk ons.
Yep, he's spoken to this before. He has zero plans to stop coaching. Nor should he just walk away imo. UR and our bumbling AD & admin signed the contracts, we are going to have to do it the hard way. But instead we'll do it the Hardt way.
They introduced by year as noted. However there were more players there than got into the line. I saw both Sal and Nick in Section 5. Maybe they did not formally sign up or something. It was strange as Nick was in the video segment talking about Beck.

Yeah I think some folks just weren't in thr mood given the halftime score. They had invited former student managers as well and a friend of mine had gone to the earlier events of the day but had set with me at the game. Likewise I heard Chief Rick Edwards was around earlier in the day but from what I saw wasn't at the game.
the struggle in reds continue. the uni's were MUCH better than our old reds but let's just stick to white or blue.
another loser from yesterday's disgraceful effort was the Beckwith Foundation. that auction after game couldn't have gone as well as planned.

Yes buckle up spidernation. Best hope is a mutual parting following the 27-28 season. Hopefully next AD and power structure in place that values the hoops program. I'll believe it when I see it.
Again, I believe in a clean break from the mooney regime too. But I hold out some hope that he would be willing to step down for a Hovde or Geriot if his hand is forced. No idea yet if they will be really good coaches, but I think they want to be great and are motivated, so it may be worth a shot as opposed to 2.5 more years of Mooney then some re-tread hire.

This could be possible if we don't bounce back next year, but we've often seen we do best when things are the darkest.
No one here thinks that Will Gipe or Peter Thomas would get a look? I know Peter didn't do great when Mooney was out recovering from heart surgery but everyone I've talked with says he has a great mind and the players love him.

IF we make a change and that is an enormous IF, we should go as far away from the Mooney coaching tree as humanly possible. I want a non-sensible hire who thinks we can beat VCU regularly.
